the "parody" misnomer
According to dictionary.com, the definition of "parody" is as follows:
1. a humorous or satirical imitation of a serious piece of literature or writing: his hilarious parody of Hamlet's soliloquy.
2. the genre of literary composition represented by such imitations.
3. a burlesque imitation of a musical composition.
4. any humorous, satirical, or burlesque imitation, as of a person, event, etc.
5. the use in the 16th century of borrowed material in a musical setting of the Mass (parody Mass).
6. a poor or feeble imitation or semblance; travesty: His acting is a parody of his past greatness.
–verb (used with object)
7. to imitate (a composition, author, etc.) for purposes of ridicule or satire.
8. to imitate poorly or feebly; travesty.
I believe that any RP site that has a "parody and fan fiction" (or any number of permutations that make the same point) forum would be more accurately named "fan fiction and derived works".
But that's just me.

incorporating music into RPs?
Interesting concept, but unless it's used as a specific gimmick for an RP, I believe it ought to be used sparingly or not used at all.
While it's not an entirely original idea (I've seen people put up play lists as asides IC before), this is the first time I've seen it applied in the way employed over on RPK. Credit goes to members BlessedWrath and Aethon_Elocine for thinking to employ Playlist.com for Aethon's Megaman X roleplay "Shattered City Revisited" on RPK.
• IC
• OOC
I admit that I am still sceptical, but I will dabble with it just for the sake of.

This is the tail-end of a post for Dungeon Crawl. I cut it out to give people who weren't in the scene the chance to catch up.
Waste not, want not.
===
It took a few minutes to sort everything out. Incantrix had Flask's stunned body laid out upstairs in her bedroom.
"It's best if we let her rest. That door is solid maple. Zelda will look after her."
"Now! Is this everyone? I had a feeling that there would be more of you."

yes. i see. do go on.
Not only do people like to talk about their characters, they feel the need to explain every single reason and possibility behind their motives. Even for the most single, inane, and inconsequential things.
Be cognisant of this, people.
Cognisant and ashamed.
Be cognisant of this, people.
Cognisant and ashamed.

I took this part of my latest post in Iwaku:
---
Eisen was called paranoid before for keeping a loaded Luger in his locker. The age of air piracy in Weimar had long passed with the advent of such organizations as the FTA's Merchant Marines and the Mark. Also, with the Bismarck flying exclusively deep within Weische airspace, what possible reason would there be to have one?
---
It did nothing for it. And it's bad. Horrible. Blah.
